Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee and manage the quality assurance processes to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role involves developing and implementing quality control systems, conducting audits, and collaborating with various departments to drive continuous improvement. The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining our AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001 certifications, which are critical to our operations and growth. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in scaling the Quality Assurance department as the business expands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement quality control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor production processes to identify deviations from quality standards and take corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the Quality Assurance team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis to track quality metrics.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and standards.
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to develop solutions for process improvements.
- Lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts related to quality issues.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of existing quality control processes.
- Maintain AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001 certifications.
- Conduct receiving inspections, First Article Inspections (FAIRs), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as needed.
- Work with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues.
- Train staff in the use of common inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop gauges, gauge pins, microscopes, and precision flat tables.
- Lead lean implementation initiatives.
- Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and other quality documents.
- Develop strategies to scale the Quality Assurance department in alignment with business growth.
- Identify and recruit talent to expand the Quality Assurance team as needed.
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001 standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, drop gauges, gauge pins, microscopes, and precision flat tables.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with quality management systems and standards, including AS9100, ISO9001, and ISO14001.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in quality engineering.
- A college degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Six Sigma certification preferred, with experience in DMAIC methodology.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work with suppliers and customers on quality issues.
