As we bring the second quarter of 2026 to a close, we want to share several of our highlights from the past few months. Read more to learn about our 1U SDS, our partnership with Latent AI and SOF Week demo, key insights from our tradeshows, and our latest blogs.
(P.S. Watch our booth video below from SOF Week.)
The Oceanside 1U SDS Lite Immersion
First presented at Sea Air Space 2026 in April, the Oceanside 1U SDS Immersion Lite Server delivers rugged, high performance compute in an ultra-compact half-width 1U form factor, purpose-built for immersion-cooled deployment in demanding defense and edge environments.
Leveraging OSS’s proven rugged edge supercomputing expertise, it meets the stringent requirements of mission-critical applications where thermal efficiency, reliability, and compute density are paramount.
Rugged Compute Meets AI Labeling at the Edge
Our partnership with Latent AI began in 2023, and since then, we have combined our respective strengths in rugged compute and low-latency, agnostic AI software to power efficient compute at the edge. At SOF Week 2026, the OSS 3U SDS and Latent AI’s Latent Assisted Label were hard at work demonstrating how, together, our products cut the latency and manual effort involved in labeling AI training data at the rugged edge.
This ruggedized 3U SDS-LC doesn’t just survive harsh environments—it thrives in them, running up to 35 AI workloads simultaneously. Air-cooled and MIL-STD-810G rated, this Gen5 short depth server supports configurations of up to 5 of the worlds most powerful GPUs, 16 of the fastest NVMe solid state storage devices, the lowest latency, highest bandwidth PCIe scale-out expansion systems, the highest performance SAN & NAS storage software, extreme 400Gbps networking solutions and the most secure advanced system management, monitoring and control.
When combined with the 3U SDS, the Latent Assisted Label optimizes AI models to run effectively by minimizing latency and maximizing the AI’s inference speed. This optimization solves the performance bottleneck and demand issues that occur when AI models are not optimized. Together, the 3U SDS and Latent Assisted Label allow for real-time imaging, providing data to operators at the speed of need to support mission success.
Tradeshows: Where We’ve Been, Where We’re Going
Our team exhibited at two tradeshows this quarter: Sea Air Space 2026 and SOF Week 2026. At SAS, we demonstrated how collaborating with partners to rapidly produce unique solutions for challenging environments—in this case, the Oceanside 1U SDS Lite Immersion—is at the pinnacle of our core values. SOF Week provided an avenue for us to demonstrate a live application for our 3U SDS Gen5, which was used to run Latent AI’s Latent Assisted Label software at the show. Watch the video below to learn more.
Sea Air Space 2026:
We leverage HPC and extremely low latency so that our customers can effectively, quickly, and efficiently bring AI/ML, Sensor Procession/Fusion, and autonomy to bear.” - CEO Mike Knowles
At the Sea-Air-Space 2026, we showcased our high-performance, low-latency solutions in lower SWaP-C—while delivering at the speed of need. Check out our Key Insights Reel on LinkedIn.
SOF Week 2026:

Next quarter, find our booth at GVSETS! Bring us your challenges, and we’ll talk you through our unique solutions.
On August 11th, our VP of Technology, Jim Reardon, will present his paper on the use of Holoscan in PCIe switched fabrics. See the presentation LIVE in the Vibe Credit Union Showplace and stop by the OSS booth afterward!
What do my customers want, and how can my product(s) solve their problem?’ A deceptively simple question but recognizing its value and putting it into practice are two different skills. I decided to spend my time at the trade show discovering how businesses determined their customers’ pain points and developed solutions that addressed them. One lesson I learned in school that applies not only to the workplace, but to personal development, is that the best way to truly understand something is to first see how others have been applying it, and from there figure out how you ought to implement what they have taught you. A combination of observational and experiential learning.
After conducting several interviews, I determined two elements of successful marketing within the defense industry, specifically: collaboration and adaptability.
