Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary range $95,000 to $115,000

Position Overview:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods, materials and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. There will be some commodity management as well as program management as part of the NPI process. The job holder may take responsibility for a specific project or hold a larger remit in terms of purchasing responsibility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches, analyzes, forecasts, and monitors supply chain trends for critical high-performance computing and ruggedized system components, including GPUs, DDR4/DDR5 memory, printed circuit boards (PCBs), custom metalwork, and liquid cooling components.
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
- Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers.
- Navigates procurement between authorized distributors, including suppliers such as Arrow and Avnet, and qualified component brokers to source highly allocated, long-lead-time, or obsolete parts. Ensures all broker-sourced material is new, authentic, traceable, and protected from counterfeit risk.
- Collaborates closely with Engineering and Operations on Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Bill of Materials (BOM) updates, and material disposition decisions, including use-up, rework, replacement, or other strategies for affected components.
- Evaluates, obtains quotes for, and coordinates material requirements with external Contract Manufacturers (CMs), including full-turnkey assembly partners.
- Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required.
- Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and method.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases.
- Maybe required to attend trade shows, seminars and conferences to maintain understanding of new products and trends in our industry.
- May act in place of the Purchasing Manager as required and authorized.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
- At least five years or more of purchasing experience required, preferably in the electronics industry.
- APICS Certification a plus.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS requirements and defense-contracting procurement practices preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, specifically CSI (CloudSuite Industrial / SyteLine), including the use of material demand and purchasing.
- Experience with Google GWS.
