2xOU Flash Storage Array

provides up to 212TB of fast Flash storage for up to three servers and is designed to meet Open Compute Project specifications

 
 

The 2xOpenU Flash Storage Array (OCP-FSA) provides up to 212TB of direct attached Flash storage through up to sixty-three Flash Memory add-in boards in x8 Gen3 slots. The 2xOU FSA cables to one to three host computers through PCIe x16 Gen3 connections operating at 128Gb/s bandwidth. The low-profile, half-length host cable adapters support low latency and extreme bandwidth to the Flash Memory.

 
Enclosure • Dimensions: 21”W x 3.7” H x 34.5”D or 536mm W x 94.5mm H x 878mm D
• Supports up to 63 half-length, half-height, single-slot PCIe x8 NAND FLASH boards
• All boards face the front of the chassis with the front row of NAND flash boards having I/O bracket access
• Up to three PCIe 3.0 x16 cable interfaces on the front of the chassis
• 6 removable fans accessed using the slide-out tray
• Cable management using hinged cable arm to support slide-out access to all Flash cards
Main Backplane One to three PCIe x16 cable inputs and up to 19 PCIe x8 Flash slots
• All x8 connectors are “open back” style for maximum flexibility with Flash cards up to PCIe x16
• High-speed interconnects to the rear backplane
• Three PLX PEX 8796 primary switches manage PCIe interconnects from cables to canisters
• On board IPMI System Monitor
• Connected to the chassis bus-bar power distribution system
Rear Backplane • 44 additional PCIe x8 Flash slots in 2 ranks of 22 each
• All x8 connectors are “open back” style for maximum flexibility with Flash cards up to PCIe x16
• High-speed interconnects to the main backplane
• Four secondary PLX PEX 8796 PCIe 3.0 switches provide fan out to all 44 x8 slots
Power • Supports Flash cards up to 50W each
• Total power up to 3780W supported form OCP rack power delivery system
• All +12V power rails shared on copper bus bar delivery system to all backplanes
Front Indicator Panel • Front panel LEDs for System power, IPMI status, Alarm, Fan Status and 64 Slot Status indicators
• 2x RJ45 connectors for IPMI v2.0 System Monitor
• 1x DB-9 serial port for IPMI network configuration
